Club Med

Club Med is a health careers club for juniors and seniors who are interested in learning more about various occupations in the Health care field.  The club meets on the third Thursday of every month at Yoakum Community Hospital.  In addition to presentations by health professionals and the opportunity to shadow hospital personnel during the course of their duties, the club takes field trips and offers opportunities for service hours by volunteering at the hospital.  Senior club members have the opportunity to win scholarship money for college.  There were three scholarship recipients in 2013 with a total of $1500 awarded. 

For the 2013-2014 school year, the faculty advisor for Club Med is Mr. Balmer.  Meetings will be on the following dates this year: Sept 19, Oct 17, Nov 21, Dec 19, Jan 16, Feb 20, Mar 20, Apr 17, May 15 

We are looking forward to an exciting year of medical experiences and perhaps a field trip or two!
